Professional Interests

General Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, and Psychotherapy. I have been involved in academic medicine - medical student and residency teaching programs throughout my career. This includes my experience in working in both academic medicine and in higher education. After completing my residency in Psychiatry, I did a fellowship in HIV/AIDS - Psychosomatic Medicine, working with people with co-occurring medical illness. I have much experience with LGBTQIAPP+ communities and in treating underserved, disenfranchised, and vulnerable populations - including those with severe mental illness and substance use. I really enjoy teaching and working in an integrated medical multidisciplinary setting.

Overall, I base my medical approach through mindfulness, and embracing the whole person and their individual life.
