Education & License

Mike received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University. He received a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Baylor University and is currently working towards his Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from Baylor University. He is pursuing Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) certification through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).

Role at CAPS

Mike provides individual counseling, group therapy, clinical assessments, crisis response, and psychoeducational workshops. He also provides outreach, workshops, counseling, and community-based services on campus.

Professional Interests

Mike uses a person-centered approach, working collaboratively with students to explore their experiences with curiosity and compassion. He incorporates guided imagery and experiential approaches to help students explore beliefs that may be holding them back and develop confidence, flexibility, and self-compassion. His clinical interests include identity development, achievement-related pressures, and helping students navigate anxiety and fears. He is particularly interested in working with performers, student-athletes, international students, and anyone navigating the pressure to succeed.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Mike enjoys exploring new restaurants and places, reading books, and listening to podcasts and audiobooks. He loves playing squash, watching movies, and winding down with a walk at sunset.
