Role at CAPS

Joel is the CAPS Training Director. In that role, he oversees training placements for graduate students in mental health fields. He also is a generalist clinician who provides individual and group therapy, workshops, crisis response, outreach, and consultation services for the campus community. Joel is an active member of the Training Committee and Groups Committee.

Professional Interests

Joel has worked in three different university counseling centers and is driven to meaningfully promote mental health in campus communities like ours at the U of A. He is also dedicated to the development of clinicians in training as they prepare to emerge into our communities as professionals.
