Role at CAPS

Joel is the CAPS Training Director and oversees the Training Program in that role. Clinical services that Joel provides include individual therapy, group therapy, workshops, crisis response, and outreach services. He is an active member of the Social Justice Steering Committee and Groups Committee.

Professional Interests

Joel enjoys his job because he gets to connect with incredible people and work toward meaningful change. With experience working in three different university counseling centers, Joel is prepared and experienced across range of issues. He uses his training in mindfulness, acceptance-based interventions, and psychodynamic approaches in his clinical delivery. Fitting to his role as Training Director, Joel is dedicated to the development of the next generation of mental health professionals.
