Internship Program Admissions

The APA-accredited internship program at Counseling & Psych Services (CAPS) at the University of Arizona is a 2000 hour, 12-month training program. We use the APPIC Internship Matching Program for our selection process. Candidates must complete all formal requirements towards Ph.D. or Psy.D. candidacy in a counseling or clinical psychology doctoral program and have completed a minimum of 350 intervention hours.
Our program is designed to provide emerging health services psychologists ample opportunity to develop and hone generalist competencies within in a highly interdisciplinary setting. Further, interns will be given an “emphasis placement” that matches their interests to gain a personalized emphasis in working with a specific population or modality during their internship. We train under a developmental model in which we strive to challenge interns to learn and grow while also providing support the support that they need.
