Education & License
Izza attended New Mexico State University (NMSU) where she graduated with bachelor's degrees in Spanish, Psychology, and Criminal Justice. In 2020, she graduated from the University of Arizona with a master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Currently, she is a License Associate Therapist (LAC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Role at CAPS
Izza is the site-based counselor Guerrero Student Center, where she provides affirming and culturally informed therapeutic services.

Professional Interests
Izza has a background in community and trauma-focused mental health services. She has a special interest in providing affirming and inclusive therapy for students who identify as BIPOC, Latinx, Hispanic, Chicanx, immigrant, and/or 1st generation. Her therapeutic approach focuses on, but is not limited to, person-centered, self-empowerment, self-compassion, strength-based, values-based, and harm reduction, and she uses modalities such as IFS, CBT, MI, Feminist, ACT, and a little bit of humor.
Personal Interests
Izza has 2 yorkies, Aizha and Graze, who she loves spending time with. Traveling to her border town El Paso, Tx to visit family and friends. Brunching with friends and trying new local restaurants. She enjoys digital drawing (not professional), watching crime series, dancing, and listening to podcasts.
