CAPS Telehealth FAQS
CAPS and Campus Health continue to monitor the ongoing public health crisis. We are dedicated to your health and providing quality care. At this time, CAPS services are only available via telehealth (phone or Zoom) to protect you, the UArizona community, and our CAPS providers. We are here to help you access and navigate telehealth services. If you are in crisis, please call (520) 621-3334 so that we can help you access the care you need.
At CAPS we understand that students sometimes experience crisis, and we care. Please call us if you feel you are experiencing a crisis and a counselor will speak with you about your next steps.
If you are experiencing a crisis after hours, please contact CAPS at 520-621-3334. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your local emergency room.
In the interest of public health concerns and to provide the highest level of protection for you and Campus Health staff, we are treating all individuals equally regardless of vaccination status.
As part of a healthcare facility, masks are required to be worn at all times. Providers and students have shared that masks can be a barrier to the counseling process, and students have reported that our clinicians provide the same level of quality care and compassion via telehealth as they would face to face. To offer you the best possible care and provide the highest level of protection to you and our community, CAPS services are only available by phone or Zoom.
If you don't have a private space, required technology, or reliable internet connection, CAPS has a space for you. Call us to reserve a Zoom room for your appointment. Students can also reserve private study rooms at the Albert B Weaver Science and Engineering Library and Health Sciences Library.
CAPS continues to monitor the ongoing public health crisis and evaluate our services on an ongoing basis. Please check our website or call for updates.
Campus Health is offering virtual and in-person medical visits. Please call 520-621-9202 before you come in to determine which type of visit is needed.
Due to state regulations and licensure restrictions, CAPS mental health providers are unable to offer certain services across state or international lines (for example, individual counseling). We may have some providers licensed in your state. Please call 520-621-3334 for more information.
The following services are available to all students regardless of their location:
We understand that telehealth visits may be challenging for some students, and we care about you receiving services that are a good fit for you. CAPS will work with you to connect you to a community provider who is working with clients in person.
As part of a healthcare facility, CAPS has a duty to ensure that services are safe for all members of the community and must follow more stringent public health guidelines.
